Sculptra®

Sculptra® is the Long-Lasting Remedy for Deep Facial Wrinkles and Hollow Areas
A new volume enhancer for facial augmentation, Sculptra® has received FDA approval and has long-lasting results.

About Sculptra®

Sculptra® is a synthetic biodegradable simple lactic acid-based sugar that is injected into the face or backs of hands to increase the fullness and thickness of the skin by stimulating new collagen production. This compound has been widely used in dissolvable sutures for more than forty years and does not require skin testing

So what is Sculptra® ?

Sculptra® is a biostimulator that contains a substance called PLLA (poly-L-lactic acid), which is injected deep under your skin. There the PLLA works with your body to stimulate and revitalise the natural collagen production. As collagen production is stimulated, the skin starts to regain its structure and volume.
There is also an amazing effect on the skin itself which results in a beautiful glow and improved skin texture

Am I suitable for this treatment?

With our natural collagen and elastin formation slowing from as young as 20 years of age anybody and everybody can benefit from Sculptra®.

What can I expect from Sculptra®?

Sculptra® treatment only takes a few minutes and is administered by needle or fine cannula. Local anaesthetic is used for comfort. Bruises can occur and swelling can be noticeable for a few days

Possible side effects

After the treatment, you may experience some redness, swelling, itching, and bruising at the injection site. You’ll be advised to massage the treated area regularly for up to a week to diminish the risk of developing small nodules, or lumps, under the skin. Current guidelines for treatment mean nodules are very unlikely

Sculptra® results occur gradually and are usually noticeable by 6-8 weeks. Full results appear by six months.

Sculptra® works gradually so does not cause a sudden change in appearance and can be long-lasting.
Sculptra® is an advanced dermal filler that requires experience to inject safely

Most people need three treatments spaced about a month apart in order to achieve the desired result.
Results have been shown to last up to two years. Most people choose to have a top up treatment to maintain results about every 12-18 months.
